Éléments pour une histoire du Jardin Botanique de Bordeaux
Créé vers 1629 dans « un lieu appartenant à la ville, propre pour y cultiver toutes sortes de simples » le premier jardin botanique de Bordeaux se déplace au gré des attributions municipales, avant de s’installer vers 1850 au Jardin Public accompagné de serres et d’un Muséum. Il est dirigé au XVIIIe siècle par François-de-Paule Latapie qui lui donne une nouvelle renommée : les collections évoluent associant jardin botanique, animaux exotiques et jardin d’agrément public. En 2003, un nouveau Jardin Botanique propose des déambulations dans différents secteurs chacun répondant à une problématique pédagogique
Elements for a History of the Botanical Garden of Bordeaux
Created around 1629 in “a place belonging to the city, suitable for cultivating all kinds of simples”, the first botanical garden of Bordeaux moved according to municipal allotments before settling around 1850 in the Public Garden accompanied by greenhouses and a Museum. It is directed in the 18th century by François-de-Paule Latapie who gave it new renown :the collections evolve associating botanical gardens, exotic animals and a public pleasure garden. In 2003, a new Botanical Garden was created to offer strolls in different sectors, each responding to an educational theme.
