Du domaine du Béquet à l’Hôpital Robert-Picqué, à Villenave-d'Ornon - Vestiges du château Bosc
A partir de la fin du XVIIe siècle des parcelles du quartier du Béquet, voisines de la chapelle du même nom, anciennement connue, ont été associées, échangées et rassemblées par des propriétaires bourgeois, notables protestants du négoce bordelais, pour constituer progressivement un vaste domaine foncier occupé par, vignes, prés et bois : les Massieu, Naudy, Serres, Thibaut et enfin la famille Bosc, qui y restera près d’un siècle. Des demeures, « maisons des champs », s’y sont succédé, la dernière et la seule dont subsistent des éléments étant le château Bosc. Vendu à l’Etat en 1875, le domaine, dévolu pour partie à des activités de santé, accueillit plus tard l’hôpital Robert-Picqué, construit entre 1931 et 1934, dont la chefferie est installée depuis 1936 dans l’ancien corps central du château.
Villenave-d’Ornon: from Domaine du Bequet to Hospital Robert-Picque; vestiges of the Chateau Bosc.
Since the end of the 17th century, the land parcels of the Bequet quarter, neighbors of the well known chapel with that same name, have been merged together, traded, and re-assembled by bourgeois land owners, Protestant leaders of the Bordeaux wine trade, to progressively build a vast estate occupied by vineyards, fields and forest. The families Massieu, Naudy, Serres, Thibaut and finally the Bosc, who have resided here for almost a century, resided upon this estate. Different residences, country houses replaced one another of which the only remaining element is the château Bosc. Sold to the state in 1875, the domain was destined for health services and now houses the hospital Robert Picque – constructed between 1931 to 1934 – whose administration, since 1936, is installed within the central buildings of the old chateau.
