De l’hôtel parlementaire à la maison de négociant : histoire d’une demeure du cours Victor-Hugo
Résidence au XVIIe siècle d’une importante famille du parlement de Bordeaux, la famille Denis, l’immeuble situé aux numéros 88 et 89 du cours Victor-Hugo a été occupé au XVIIIe siècle par des familles de négociants. Les constructions du XVIIe siècle ont été remplacées au siècle suivant par les bâtiments que nous pouvons voir aujourd’hui, notamment la longue façade un peu austère qui se développe le long du cours.
From the Parliamentary Hotel to the Merchant house : the history of a building in the cours Victor Hugo
The building located at numbers 88 and 89 in the cours Victor Hugo was occupied by an important parliamentary family, the Denis family, in the 17th century. Then a family of merchants lived there in the 18th century. The 17th-century constructions were replaced in the following century by the buildings we can see today, in particular the long and rather austere-looking façade which runs along the cours Victor Hugo.
